"There is no beauty without some strangeness." - Edgar Allen Poe
therapy for SCHOOL-AGED YOUTH
At its best, growing up is full of joy and discovery. Yet, inevitably, because life has ups and downs, we all encounter questions and discomfort during these years - sometimes we stop feeling 'at home' in our own story. When this happens, trouble might bubble up and we experience difficulty. I believe that when young people can do well, they will. They need their grownups - parents, caregivers, mentors, teachers, and friends - to help them make sense of their world and nurture their healthy development.
I am specially trained to help children and teens explore whatever thoughts, feelings, and actions that they bring to counseling.
Depending on the unique needs of younger clients, a typical counseling session might include playing games, art projects, music, movement, or therapeutic conversation - all of these provide windows for deeper connection, exploration, and growth. My approach is rooted in attachment theory, relational psychoanalysis, and interpersonal neurobiology.
I am trained and experienced in advocating for youth in school settings and also within the foster care system. My heart is to help young people, whatever their circumstances may be, to flourish while empowering the adults in their life to help them get there.
